Hey, We’re Making Season Two!

Oh hi! Want to know what’s happening next with Join the Party? The wait is now over. We’re very excited to announce that JTP Season 2 will start on March 3, 2020!

Our new D&D campaign will have new characters in a new world, played by your old faves: DM Eric Silver, player Amanda McLoughlin, and player/sound designer Brandon Grugle. We will also be joined by new player Julia Schifini, who was a Creative Consultant and guest player in Season 1 as Kohl the Artificer. Get to know her by listening to Spirits, which she co-hosts with Amanda, and following her @JuliaSchifini on Twitter to find out about the many projects she acts in, edits and sound designs!

Now let’s talk release schedule for Season 2. In the new campaign, episodes will continue to come out every two weeks. Afterparties are also back! But instead of publishing short Afterparties after each episode, we’ll post awesome longer Afterparties in our off weeks every other episode. That means two episodes and one Afterparty each month! This schedule change allows us to respond to listener questions about the most recent episode in each Afterparty, rather than recording in advance. Our Patreon will continue to charge for main episodes only, aka every two weeks.

Season 2 will begin with four behind the scenes episodes that show you how we put the new campaign together. We’ll choose our setting, roll our characters, and build our world on-mic for everyone to hear. These Pregame episodes (see what we did there?) will start on March 3, 2020. Plus, remember how the first couple episodes of Season 1 include tooltips that teach you how to play D&D? We will do the same thing again for Season 2.

But don’t fear—new content will still hit your feed between now and then! Our giant Afterparty After the End of the World is coming out on Monday December 23 (submit your questions via Twitter now!), and we will also release one-shots with special guests in January and February. Our Patreon will continue publishing bonus content: NPC backstories for the one-shots, releasing new episodes early for Legend-tier supporters, and of course daily funtimes in the best Discord on the internet. We will charge patrons just once in January and once in February for those bonus episodes.

Thank you so much to all who listen, support us on Patreon, and share the beauty of D&D with your friends. When we started making this show three years ago, we hoped we could convince people who hadn’t tried D&D before that this game is a great way to tell stories, build friendships, and have fun. You’ve gone above and beyond, creating a community around this show that we could never have imagined. Join us in saying a fond farewell to the Concentric States, and say hello to Season 2. We can’t wait to share what’s next!
